One time, I tried to paint you.
One time, i tried to paint you,
and ended up being kissed by inquiring stares
from a black canvas
I couldn't seem to find the right shade of color
for the way your eyes
reflect the shine of the sun;
for the way your smile
takes off and soars in the back of my mind;
for the way you say my name,
ethereal, almost sacred, like a silent prayer of 'please be okay's;
for that trademark laughter of yours,
a sweet lullaby in the deepest, blind mornings;
or for the way you look at me.
for the way you look at me
like i'm a foolish, fragile glass in a whole, different perspective,
as if you would kiss the starts goodbye
just to make sure i don't break,
just to keep me safe, for me just be okay.
like i'm more precious than any diamonds and golds that exist in the universe,
out of love and earnetness from your caring hands.
like i am what you call "home".
I tried to paint you,
but it's almost too much for me to ask
the perfect avalanche of colors for
the way you love me.
***
"You don't have to say the words," you said, "I can see it in your eyes."
"See what, exactly?"
Your smile grew wide before answering, "See that you love me too."
